My Pocket Wizard mounts are HEAVY | Time to lose some weight
So on my last trip to Iowa for a photo shoot I decided I had to come up with a better way of mounting my pocket wizards to my lights. In the past I was using a super clamp with a 1/8 stud in it and threading the pocket wizard on.
The benefit to this is, my pocket wizards are rock solid however they make my already heavy pelican case that much heavier when traveling. So after much debate I have come up with the oh so low tech Velcro method.
It's really simple. Put one half of the Velcro on your Pocket Wizard.
Second put the other side on your light.
Lastly smush them together.
And POOF! Its a match made in heaven.
Here is a tip though. My first pass at putting the velcro on, I put the rough side on my pocket wizards them selves and the soft side on the light. Bad idea. The reason being is, when I throw my PW's in my camera bag they end up sticking to the inside of the bag which is a little annoying.
So learn from my mistakes. When mounting your radio triggers, keep it old school with some Velcro.
