This is also completely unnecessary but I also drew a new ship for their girlfriends for some reason idk if y'all are cool with it
They're so cute together, I imagined that they let their boyfriends date so that they could be with each other

For a very, very long time, I have wanted to read Super Rose (スーパーローズ) by Kyuuta Ishikawa (石川球太) from 1959. Sometimes it has felt like this might have been the only genuine magical girl story from the '50s, though I have thought differently at other times.
But try as I might, I was never able to track it down. Then recently, I realized that an Archive.org user named Dr. Muttonchops had uploaded scanlations of all four volumes. It's actually been an incredible experience to peruse it over the past two weeks. I've read three of the four volumes so far.

Like with Wigglypaint and PicMix, I will not be abandoning MS Paint entirely to use Picrew.
Creator's Note: In case you're wondering, Boubafee's name comes from "Bouba", as in the bouba-kiki effect (a non-arbitrary mental association between certain speech sounds and certain visual shapes). For Zitrona's name, their name derives from the German word for "lemon", "Zitron". Melinuit's is a mash-up of "Melinoë" (the Greek goddess of nightmares and insanity) and "nuit" (the French word for "night").
Super Rose by Kyuta Ishikawa, which was serialized in the magazine Hitomi from the April 1959 issue until its cessation of publication, and it is a girl manga with superpower battles as its theme, which was quite rare during its serialization period.
The story goes that Mayumi, the daughter of Dr. Makimura, the director of the Makimura Science Institute,is about to be kidnapped by the Sea Demons group(海魔団) who are trying to interfere with the doctor's research, but suddenly a meteorite falls and Mayumi gets caught up in it,gaining the superpower to transform into Super Rose and fight with villains.
Her transformed appearance is a black bodysuit with bunny ears like a black rabbit, yellow gloves and boots, and a red cape with a rose buckle on her chest.Super Rose's super powers include super strength, flight,see-through vision, etc.,and she uses a bulletproof cloak and a ring that fires electric shocks, but somehow the rose on her chest seems to be her weakness.
Super Rose is a fairly early female transformed fighter of japanese character, she was born nine years earlier than Bela from Humanoid Monster Bem,12 years earlier than Andro Mark from Suki! Suki!! Majo-sensei,and 14 years earlier than Cutie Honey. She might also be the first transformed fighting magical girl character, but that is controversial, after all,the source of her powers is not actually clear.

Hello! We are unable to message you, so this may be multiple asks. (Our apologies.) We saw your post on Super Rose, and we would love to use some or most of the info on it for our own magical girl comics database (found here: aradiacollective[.]com/grimoire), alongside some images and additional info we've found elsewhere. We always link to any sources in our references section, so we would be more than happy to link the post in question! And of course, any other links you may have used!
Thank you so much for reaching out! I took a look around the database and it looks awesome so far. Can't wait to see how it grows. I'm so honored that you want to use my posts as a source of information, and I have no problem with it. Thank you for checking!
With Super Rose specifically I'm delighted to report that more of the series has been uploaded to the Internet Archive since my initial review of it, so you (or anybody else reading this) can read it firsthand if you'd like. Let me know if there's any other help I can offer with this project. Best of luck!
