Will They Believe the Truth? 7-12 Dec
"They don't want their people getting hurt anymore than we want their people," Lu Wu explained. "Two of them saw the same thing with their own eyes. They know we're not fabricating it. All they have to do is stop fighting and they'll save themselves. It's that easy."
"But will they see it that way?" I asked. "Facts don't mean anything if people refuse to believe them. They want to feel a certain way because they're angry. They're angry and they need someone to blame and it's not likely they're going to be willing to blame themselves. So they'll blame us because it's convenient. They'll try to fight us because they think it'll make them feel better. They'll ignore everything you said, everything you showed, everything they know to be true because otherwise they'll have to accept that they're the problem."
"Either they'll accept some of the responsibility of the catastrophe or they wont," Lu Wu replied. "I've done all I can. It's now up to tgem. If they refuse to see the truth then we will stand against them because we have no choice. They have allowed us none."
"Or we could just leave," Kink said.
"How could we do that?" I asked. "They won't let us."
"I did it once. I can do it again. It's not hard. We should just go. If we wait for them, they're just going to attack. We should get out of here before they get the chance."
"I don't..." I began, but Tam quickly jumped in, "Agreed. Take us out of here, Kink."
"Don't!" I shouted, but it was too late. We were gone. "Why'd you do that!? Now, we'll never get them to trust us! We'll never be able to convince them of the truth!"
