Arlo Parks – Music Hall of Williamsburg – September 22, 2021
Two things can be true: Arlo Parks is having a(n extended) moment and Arlo Parks is exactly what we need right now. The 21-year-old London singer-songwriter and poet put out her first full-length, Collapsed in Sunbeams, back in January. “Her music is like a warm hug, a reassurance that everything is going to be OK when the world is dark and things seem out of control,” says NME in a five-star review. “True to form, her debut album is a sanctuary of compassionate lyricism and groove-along tunes.” The album hasn’t just won her praise but also plenty of awards, including Breakthrough Artst at this year’s BRIT Awards and the very prestigious Mercury Prize. And having just launched a North American tour in support of her LP, Arlo Parks welcomed the arrival of autumn and an adoring Brooklyn crowd at a sold-out Music Hall of Williamsburg on Wednesday night.
