He's aware when shi gon go down and realised this quickly before the elf or the king outed him(he must of been aware before hand that the king believes things and will talk to others about it since he left before the king could talk and how it would escalate but didn't account for the fact running away would escalate it/his lie was just him tryna prove he's invincible or unfuckable with, Running away here is safer than admitting his lie in front off way too many people and for them to view him as weak
Running away is considered weak so he quickly came up with a lie to hide that fact so his brains still functional ya get me but not sharp enough to know how to lie successfully by overdoing it now but You can't really let ppl know these things as it's safer to be known as the dude who knocked out a dragon and keep up that image,I'm coming in the chameleon not Cuz of the situation as "idgaf" about it and just need a ride/don't really need help/positive denial that super4 gang clearly see through
Finally he finds it hard to trust/be authentic/connect/ruin that strong image he presents himself as (despite it kinda fails at times) admit weaknesses even if that's simply getting lost as that's vulnerability and because he's wired like this he for real thinks others may understand when he tells the truth in simple form.
He so clearly got CPTSD as yeah dinasours tryna eat him, isolation, the angry ass aliens, natural mishaps,how's the food and hygiene, relied on himself mostly but he got this cool positive denial idgaf Rock Brock persona going on as a shield even tho at a first glance could be seen as stupid/attention seeking/negative shit when nooo😭 bro's head is literally in the lost world 24/7 instead of everyone else's reality, he on a diff wavelength and has his cope and personally this up for debate I think he's doing okay for himself despite it all but defo the typa dude that needs some help but he don't realise it
