The Gap Band Burn Rubber On Me: I was the president of the Gap Band Fan Club in HS! I love Uncle Charlie Wilson and his brothers. This Tulsa Oklahoma trio discovered by the legendaryLeon Russel had a plethora of hits in the 80s. Uncle Charlie is still out here gigging snd making records with Snoop and Justin Timberlake amongst others. He was the prototype for R Kelly and many others. He had a unique voice and that Juno bass always slaps on these records. Pre Hip Hop this was street music believe it or not. The Gap Band had mega hits and they always had the funky drum roll on almost every song! Love me some Gap band and this uptempo funk monster goes like a MFer. This is a euro Vinyl pressing important to note all the American versions of 80s jams were pressed on Styrene. Styrene is basically polyester and sounds like shot after a few plays. Its also incurs cue burn. Didn’t know this for a few then realized it and had to rebuy several hundred euro pressings of my classic jams cause they are vinyl which sounds way better and doesn’t get cue burn #FStyrene #SuperDiscoBreaks (at Los Angeles, California)

All The People Cramp Your Style: This early breakbeat classic was sampled by KRS One and Boogie Down productions for Still Number One and Cypress Hill for Real Estate and many others. This uptempo 1972 classic woth its horn laden break down and funky drum back is a UBB old school knocker and has one of the best drum fills of all time. Not a lot of info about this record or band to be found leading to its air of mystery. Found this for 2 bucks about 10 years ago. Stumble across is a bit and I buy it every time. Yellow Sunshine by Yellow Sunshine: this classic BBoy break is one of the original disco driven uprocking breaks along with classics like Just Begun, Babe Ruth The Mexican and Apache amongst others. I would refer to this as a zulu break or a UBB break. This one was big in my hood as a shorty ore hip hop at LES block partys. It has an almost Santana like feel. Santana might have been in my hood the only rock band that got a pass with the clasics Jingo and Oye Como Va getting alot if run. The break in this record is sick, long and percussive. Not alot is known about this studio created band other than they were from philly and the genius Dexter Wansel (Life On Mars) plays on it.Karl Chanbers is banging the drums on this record and his brother Ron is playing guitar. The albums good this single is sick.
