Can you make a sequel to the baby Danvers speeding and Maggie brings her to Alex?
Hello - I'm once again avoiding things while watching my comfort show - Supergirl. So here's a story. B!D is Jacquelyn. L!L is Logan/Kassandra.
Jacquelyn wasn't a good driver. She never had been. It took several attempts for her to get her license, and on the last attempt, she was pretty sure the driving instructor just took pity on her.
What made her a worse driver was that she was late. She was supposed to meet her girlfriend at L Corp before their date. Logan would already be off, and hopefully, waiting for her. However, Logan was such a workaholic, Jacquelyn could only hope Logan hadn't realized the time.
Logan definitely would have noticed the time though. Unlike Jacquelyn, she was excessively punctual. So, Jacquelyn was speeding.
She was pretty proud of her ability to weave through traffic, until she had to slam on her breaks for almost hitting someone. It was only moments later that she heard sirens behind her.
"Crap," Jacquelyn said.
She pulled over, and rolled down her window before taking her license and registration from the glove box. She was still searching the messy glove box for her registration when a voice sounded at the window.
"Any idea how fast you were going, miss?"
Jacquelyn sat back up, but she was flooded with relief when she saw who was standing at the window. "Maggie?"
"Tiny Danvers . . . speeding? Really? You almost hit somebody."
"I know, but Logan is waiting for me. We have reservations and -"
"Save it. You were driving dangerously, Jackie. That's it," Maggie said.
"Are you going to arrest me?" Jacquelyn asked.
Maggie inhaled a deep sigh. "No . . ." she said slowly. "But I will be taking you to your sister."
"Kara?"
"Alex."
Jacquelyn squeezed her eyes shut. She'd been dreading that answer. "Can't you just arrest me?"
"You wish. Out of the car. Somebody can pick it up later."
Jacquelyn grimaced, but stepped out of the car.
"You're lucky I'm not cuffing you." Maggie lead Jacquelyn to her squad car and opened the door to the back seat. "Hop on in. Watch your head."
It only took a few minutes for Maggie to get them to the DEO. She left Jacquelyn in the car while she ran inside to get Alex.
Jacquelyn pulled her phone from her back pocket to text Logan.
JACQUELYN: Hey I don't think I'm gonna make the reservations Sorry :(
LOGAN: Did something happen?
JACQUELYN: I got in trouble with the law
LOGAN: What did you do?
JACQUELYN: Got caught speeding Maggie took me to Alex
LOGAN: I'll see you when Alex frees you.
Jacquelyn sighed and put her phone away.
A minute later, Alex thre w open the car door. "Jacquelyn Danvers, what the hell were you thinking?"
Jacquelyn stepped out of the car. "I was just trying to be on time for my date."
"So you put yourself and others in danger? That's unacceptable!"
"I wasn't trying to put anyone in danger. I didn't think -"
"That's the problem, Jackie. You don't think things through. Kassi can wait ten minutes. Or you can learn to manage your time better."
"I try. I don't know why, I just lose track of time and then it's so late and then I try to make up for it."
"You're lucky Maggie took mercy on you. You didn't get a ticket, you didn't go to jail."
"This is worse," Jacquelyn mumbled.
"What was that?" Alex asked.
"Nothing," Jacqelyn said quickly. "I'll try to do better."
"No more speeding. You aren't invulnerable."
"You don't think I know that, Alex? Trust me, I'm aware."
"Well sometimes you don't act like it! Do you know what it's like to be your sister? To always worry something terrible is going to happen to you?"
Jacquelyn felt like she'd been stabbed in the stomach. "I'm sorry I'm such a burden."
Alex immediately softened at those words. Her voice became softer. "Jacquelyn, that's not what I meant." She moved toward her sister to hug her, but Jacquelyn stepped away.
"Can I go home?"
"Jacquelyn?"
"Am I free to go home?" Jacquelyn asked harshly.
Alex hesitated a moment, but nodded. "Yeah, you can go home."
