Super spit curl.

This is something you can see only in live action Superman movies or TV series, and it has always caught my attention:

Why is it stylists and make up artists want to force the iconic “spit curl” on Superman’s forehead upon actors of, mostly, straight or flat hair?

Christopher Reeve: straight hair

Forced spit curl:

Brandon Routh: straight hair.

On the contrary: why is it they try to comb it back with tons of hair gel when the actor has wavy, curly hair, in which the spit curl would’ve seem more natural?

George Reeves: wavy hair

Dean Cain: wavy hair

Henry Cavill: wavy, almost curly, hair

Combed back superhair:

It looks like they always have to do the opposite of what the actor’s hair allows them to do.

Tyler Hoelchin is a special case, because he uses practically the same hairdo in his civilian life...

...than when he plays Superman.

So I think it’s just laziness.

Note: Tom Welling never played Superman. He doesn’t belong in this study.

I know what I’ll be spending a minute doing next time I was my hair 😄 this one minute mask says it will #nourish my #dryhair with #coconut extract It says to use as a mask just leave it on your wet hair for one whole minute after shampooing.
