The OC that resembles you the most (same hobby, height, shared like/dislike for something etc?)
Honestly there are sections of my soul in both Jasmine (sleeping gayly) and Amelia (superherp). Jasmine is shyer and more chill than i am, but the genesis of a girl who is both clever and into clothes/fashion comes from me. her preference for being alone is mine, and probably some of her inferiority complex as well.
Amelia has my anxiety and my need to be the best and my FIGHT ME attitude. she’s probably braver than i am, but also angrier and move impulsive. Jasmine will think things over (without obsessing in the same way that i do). Amelia will do shit impulsively (not like me), and then obsess about what she’s done afterwards (definitely like me).
and they both like girls. nice.
4, 17!
A character you rarely talk about?
Naida! She is Jasmine’s mom, the Lake Fairy, and the one who changed the curse on Anahera from death to sleep. Fairies in Sleeping Gayly are sort of…manifestations of magic basically, and ever since Angevine kicked Capet out of their country, they’ve become more and more human-like. A hundred years ago, Naida probably rarely spent any time in human form, but as Angevine started to build its own identity and central mythology in a post-Capet world, she was drawn more and more into the human side of things.
This sort of humanisation of her nature culminated when she met Jasmine’s dad Reynaud (after he was trying to flirt with the Fairy Queen oops). Personality-wise she’s quiet serious and reserved, and here’s this dude who just had this insatiable interest in her. He didn’t have any interest in using her power for himself - he was more fascinated by where it came from, how she came to be, how she viewed the world, what she thought about humanity, what she needed, what she wanted–
Her focus had been shifting from ‘lakes and nature’ to the concept of Angevine as a distinct country that she cared about more than other places anyway, but it was around this time that she started to care more about humanity as individuals. She cared deeply for Reynaud (and he for her), and as much as he learned about fairies from her, she learned about humanity from him. Getting pregnant with Jasmine was a surprise for both of them, and something of a warning bell for Naida - she was getting too close to humanity. Too human herself.
The War of Thorns between Naida (joined by six other fairies who would end up making the fairy council) and the Fairy Queen kind of shook her up again. She sought (and was provided with) help from humanity, but the sheer destruction of even a short war made her wary of the influence humanity was having on fairy kind. There had never been a war before, and she wondered how much of the chaos and destruction had been caused by the rightness of her cause, and how much was caused by the wrongness of the changes that were occurring to her.
After the War of Thorns and the debacle with Anahera’s blessings, she withdrew from her dealings with humanity - no more time at court, no more meeting with Reynaud. She gave birth to Jasmine and left her with her father, and has had little contact with either of them since.
Any OC OTPs?
please, you know me. SO MANY!!! From Sleeping Gayly:
Jasmine/Anahera
Reynaud/Naida
Reynaud/Margaret
Henri/Pining/Bitterness
and a couple of others but i need names/background for them
From Superherp:
Amelia/Bethany
Amelia/Eli (the second)
Miriam/Elijah (the first)
Elijah/Sophie
Amelia/Sophie
Sophie/I CAN’T REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT HE’S HER DAMSEL
Lauren/I CAN’T REMEMBER HIS NAME EITHER BUT HE’S HER HERO
From monster:
Isla/Calen even though i don’t know who they are yet
3, 12, 14, 46!
3. Have you ever adopted a character or gotten a character from someone else?
Not really! i have RP’d other people’s OCs, most notable @starforged‘s (most most notably Topher, he love interest from her Little Red Riding Hood inspired book, who is my boy, and a shitty dude, and a good person)
12. Name an OC that isn't yours but who you like a lot
Cries softly @gizkasparadise‘s villain and love interest dude Allan Burke, who is insensibly rich, well-dressed, power craving, man bun possessing, miniature galaxy making, unreasonably strong (GRAVITY. POWERS), and hopelessly in love with the protagonist, who is equally shitty as a person tbh
she made him 4 me
14. Introduce an OC with a tragic backstory
Bethany from Superherp, whose parents are both superheroes and don’t love her because the only thing she can do with her powers is create pretty lights.
She has a younger sister called Trinity who can fly and superscream and who looks like her but a little prettier and is essentially her Replacement.
She’s also marginalized because of her shitty powers and expected to ~bond~ with mr hero Elijah Keaton, so she struggles with the fact that. He ois a good boy and she loves him desperately (platonically), but he’s also the main Symbol of her Oppression and she should hate him, and if she’s ever going to be Free then she has to hurt him terribly.
oh and Amelia’s dad is dead and it’s her fault, i guess (same story)
OH and Elijah’s mom Miriam had her own damsel who willingly Sacrificed Himself for the Cause against her wishes. She was terribly in love with him and i will write that novella one day. That tragedy bleeds into Elijah’s life because the damsel was also called Elijah, and so LMAO poor Eli is named after some dead dude who he never knew and who definitely is not his dad.
46. Has anyone ever told you that you treat your OCs badly?
don’t think so! i’m a nice person tbh i am not, despite the above answers, known for being especially cruel to my characters. gotta step that shit up
13, 24, 32, 43!
24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?
Anahera or Elijah i think! Anahera because she’d be a good time tbh. She’s a lot braver than i am and very good at talking people into bad ideas, it’d be fun.
Elijah (from Superherp) because he is honestly the nicest boy. so nice. bit dumb, but really the sweetest person.
32. Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why?
Uuuuum Jasmine, because her body is unravelling, sort of, and also because i don’t think she’d deal with it very well :’D
43. Do you have any certain type when you create your OCs? Do you tend to favour some certain traits or looks? It's time to confess
I TRY REALLY HARD NOT TO TBH. maybe the one thing i tend towards is shorter ladies lmao i just. like them. especially if they have a dude LI who is huge.
i also tend to describe them all as solidly average, with the exception probably of Isla (dumb monster story) who is intense as fuck.
