honestly though, and i kinda talked about this when i finished it, i feel like the same sort of substance that metalder has isn’t really... there with black. if it had continued in the same vein as its first few episodes for most of its run, and had still been a success in the same year metalder got slept on, then i’d Really be able to say “something’s messed up here irt franchise standards.”
but as it actually is, black is... in general, not particularly mature or grim or complex of a show, i don’t think. it’s got a few elements like that at the beginning and end, but otherwise it’s mostly pretty typical showa toku content.
