A hand reached to the back of his head as the boy let out a nervous laugh, the laughter loud enough to drown out the sound of the malfunctioning mechanical gizmo he was trying ( and failing ) to block from Buu’s view. His body just wasn’t quite big enough to block the contraption entirely, and certainly not tall enough to block view of the smoke wafting its way to the ceiling.
A little ‘click!’ caught the boy’s ear, halting his laughter immediately.
“Uhh-- Uh-oh!”
The little gadget exploded, sending nuts and bolts ricocheting off the walls as it caught fire. Trunks put his head down in his hand, frustrated with himself. He just had to make that stupid comment, didn’t he?
“Please don’t tell my mom!” he asked, more frustrated and looking to avoid getting scolded than he was upset. He’d been too busy trying to put the fire out to look at Buu, first stomping on the flames, then finally resorting to K I C K I N G it out of the garage and into the middle of the street. That wasn’t a much better option, Trunks...
“I was just trying to fix it for her, not make it worse!”
