So the time travel AU has me by the throat, I just-
I just imagine how Xiao Lanhua thinks about staying away from Dongfang Qingcang, but
remembering how he's been trapped in the Haotian Tower for 30.000 years and imagining him staying there for many more centuries is just cruel; he does not deserve such a fate (plus she won't let Lord Changheng die when trying to strengthen the seal). Ergo she ends up doing the same thing as before and frees Dongfang Qingcang yet again
she also ends up going to Haishi city, despite knowing that this will lead him back to her, but she can't just sacrifice another person (then there is also the Destiny Book of Chidi woman, which she needs to take care of). Of course, she tries not to get caught or hurt, but again things don't go as planned and the second meeting ends up happening anyway (he also tells her the same thing about her belonging to him which just-)
So this whole " staying away" backfired spectacularily because he ends up staying in Arbiter Hall with her anyways, and now she has to deal with her own emotions.... I mean, she hasn't seen her beloved in over 500 years and now he's finally there in the flesh but she can't really do anything about it. He does not have the memories of their time together, and worst of all, there is nothing to remember because for him it never happened. It all happened in another life for her.
She tries to keep him at arm's length but it gets increasingly harder.
Then there is this whole mess of him being able to feel her emotions...
(I can also imagine that she still acts as if she doesn't know who he truly is and maybe she explains her confusing feelings away with having feelings for him? Which is true? Lol, I don't know, at this point I'm just brainstorming)
More Canglan wallpapers for my homies:
Cang lan jue crew really woke up and chose violence, like, "we're not moving on today" and I respect it.
Behold! The BTS that was just as painful as the actual drama scene. The way Dylan Wang and Esther Yu were both so immersed in their characters, the way Dylan had a hard time recovering from his emotional outburst as he embodied his character so well to be able to deliver the pain and heartache onto the camera, the way Esther stayed by his side and comforted him, saying, "I'm still here, I'm still alive" like b!tch how can you rip my heart out again like this? I thought I already recovered but apparently I didn't. Y'all know that moment when you thought you've moved on from the pain and then something happens that reminded you of that pain and made it 10x worse? Yeah, this is what this BTS did. The director/producer/writer knew what they were doing.
Do you know what's the fvcked up part of this particular scene?
It's the fact that right after Xiao Lanhua was found by Dongfang Qingcang after being left all alone by herself rapidly losing blood and life draining out of her, the first and immediate thing she did was raise her hand to Dfqc's abdomen - the same place where she stabbed herself - to check if he was also hurt, wondering if the Heart curse had affected him in any way. When she confirmed he was ok, she said with relief, "you're ok."
But you know who's not ok? This b!tch.
This b!tch who kept thinking that even in her dying breath, all she cared about was Dfqc's wellbeing; the same man who had hurt and humiliated her just a few scenes previous, even if he did it for her own sake. And Dfqc knew; knew that until the very end she still loved him, and that only added to his already overflowing guilt and pain so when she literally disintegrated in seconds right there in his fvcking arms, he snapped and almost lost what was left of his sanity. Like, fvck that sh!t, bruh.
The BTS of this showed the hand gesture clearer and I hoped they focused more on that.
Did I mention I was not ok during this scene?

Some fans really looked at that stupid 1st epilogue and said, "fvck that shit! Fine, I'll do it myself" and dropped this:
