Summary: YN does not like being sick... or being told how to recover by her big brothers.
AN- Some fluff for @percywinchester27!
Warnings: Sickness
“Hey, kiddo.” Sam walked in from the front door of the house.
“Hey,” his little sister grunted in reply. Without looking up at him, she continued eating her soup.
“You okay?” He set his keys and wallet on the side table before walking toward her.
“Yep.” YN shrugged.
That night, Sam and Dean were drinking beers on the couch after she went to bed.
“What was up with YN today? She was off.” Sam took a swig of his drink and looked over at his older brother.
“She was pretty quiet now that you say that.”
“I know I’ve been gone a lot with work, am I missing something?”
“She’s been stressed, but not out of the ordinary.” Dean responded.
“Hmm.” Sam pondered.
The next day, YN was heard groaning from across the house.
“YNN?” Sam knocked on her door.
“Yeah?” He heard a grumble.
As he entered, he saw her- uncomfortable and obviously sick.
“YNN?” He scanned her over, seeing her blankets piled on top of her, 7Up on her table, and a red face.
“Not feeling well.”
“Well, I can see that now. No wonder you were to yourself yesterday.” He walked into her room and touched her forehead. “Fever. I’ll get you a cold rag. No hunts until you’re one hundred percent better.”
“I’ll be fine.” YN rasped barely a whisper.
“No hunts. Not until you’re over this.”
YN rolled her eyes after he exited the room.
When Sam came back in, he handed her a wet washcloth and took off some of her covers.
“No,” YN whined.
“You have to get your fever down. You want to get back to normal? You have to start feeling better. Do you need anything?”
“No, she adjusted herself in her bed to a more comfortable position.
“Text me if you need anything.”
“Okay,” YN sighed.
Sam swore that YN was a miniature Dean when she was sick. She was fussy, stubborn, and refused to follow directions. Sam finally left her alone to fend for herself, only checking on her to see if she had eaten the food her older brother brought for her.
“What are you doing out of bed?” Dean walked by her room and backtracked when he saw her throwing on a jacket with her boots in-hand.
“Garth called, there is a case in-”
“No.” He blocked her way out of her bedroom. “Lie down and stay there. No one is going anywhere.”
“Dean, I’m fine.”
“Woah!” Dean caught her as she leaned toward him, dizzy. “Yes, we are staying home until you can stand on your own two feet and a little longer.”
YN leaned into Dean’s chest for support. Squeezing her eyes shut, she controlled her rapid breathing.
“Okay. Okay. I promise.”
“Let’s get you back to bed. And take the jacket off, you’re too warm.” Dean escorted her across the room to her bed. He helped her sit down steadily before putting his hand out to accept the jacket.
“Whatever,” she said defeatedly. As YN peeled off the piece of clothing, Dean walked over to the bathroom door and turned off the light that had been on. He retrieved her jacket and walked toward the door with it.
“That’s too small for you, what are you going to do with it?”
“I’m keeping it so that you don’t wear it. You have to cool your body down. Relax, we got nowhere to be. I’ll call Garth and have someone else take the hunt.”
“Ugh,” YN flopped back onto her pillow.
“Did you hear me?” Dean stared at her.
“Yeah,” she said flippantly.
“Yes sir,” he growled, stating the response he wanted.
Dean and Sam jumped back from the bomb blast. Dean stilled, while Sam got up, limping. YN was in the car, but she ran out to make sure Dean was okay.
“Dean!” She cried. When Sam saw no response from Dean, he panicked, but YN quickly froze in place. Her thoughts catching up with her, she started shaking her oldest brother.
“No! Don’t move him! Could cause spinal issues!” YN shrieked, trying to block Sam.
“It’s 115 degrees! He is going to get burned on the concrete! Help me move him. Slowly.”
With YN being smaller, it took some time for the two siblings to move the oldest Winchester.
They laid him on the back seat, back as straight as possible. YN watched him closely from the front passenger side, praying he would be okay.
“Why does my calf feel like it’s on fire?” Dean woke up in a motel room.
“Because it was,” YN cut a slit in the bottom of his jeans.
“Hey! These pants are new!” He tried to reach for the scissors but gasped in pain.
“Lie down, Dean.” YN said forcefully. “Your jeans and skin are mulch right now. You got burned on the pavement after the blast. I have to cut off your jeans.”
“I got a burn? From the bomb?”
“Concrete.” Sam rebutted.
“Huh? That doesn’t happen-“
“It does when you’re in Arizona, apparently.” YN frowned.
“Ugh!” Dean’s guttural groan radiated through the motel.
“Sorry.” YN whispered. “We had to get out of there. Florence has county buildings, including the jails. We couldn’t stay to get you fixed up.”
“Who the hell left me on the pavement that long?” Dean looked between his siblings.
Sam took a deep breath.
“Neither. It only takes a short time.”
“It was me-“ YN sputtered out.
“No, it wasn’t. We moved you as fast as we could.”
“YN?” Dean scanned her face.
“It wasn’t her fault, Dean. You’re alive because of her.”
Summary: Little Sister Winchester likes moving into the bunker.
“This place is great!” Sam and Dean’s little sister entered the bucker. “We have a house now!” She exclaimed.
“Not exactly, but kind of.” Sam brought his bag in behind her and followed her down the stairs. The brothers took her on a tour of the place before letting her choose a bedroom. YN walked into the one she wanted.
“I can’t wait to decorate! I can have posters and paint it, and maybe- A CHANDELIER!”
“Uh. What?” Dean gasped. “What? No.” He dismissed her with a wave of his hand. “That’s stupid. No one has a chandelier in their room.”
YN suddenly became silent. Her eyes growing big, Dean realized how what he had just said came across to his young sister.
“No, wait. We can find one. I’m sorry,” he sputtered out.
“HAHAHA! GOTCHA! I’d rather tear my hair out than have that girly thing in here!” She gave up her charade.
“You’re just SO FUNNY, aren’t you?” Dean rolled his eyes and shoved his sister lightly.
Dynamic Duo Drabble 10 with @cherryblossomflowers! Love you!
Prompt: "If you lose any more weight your skeleton will be the only thing left."
“Where is YN?” Dean and Sam ran away from a dark, bleak barn. Their sister was nowhere to be found after they duked it out with some vamps.
“I don’t know.” Sam replied, breathing heavily.
The boys couldn’t find her for two weeks. Once they laid eyes on her, they saw her reddened wrists and skinny figure.
“Baby, we gotcha.” Sam whispered assurances to his little sister. He untied the rope that attached her to a pole in the deserted building. Dried blood covered her body.
“Did they infect you?” Dean ran to them. YN barely stirred.
“Doesn’t look like it. She’s barely conscious though.”
“Ungh!” YN groaned.
“I know, sissy.” Dean smiled.
"If you lose any more weight your skeleton will be the only thing left."
“Yeah, well it’s not like I have been abducted and starved for two weeks, asshole,” YN groaned as she rested in the Dean cave a few days later.
“We’ll get some meat back on ya, don’t you worry.” He stood up with empty plates in his hands and walked behind the seats, stopping to kiss YN’s hairline on the way out. “Glad you’re okay, sissy.” Dean smiled.
Hi! Can I get one where it's kinda first/second season era of Supernatural and y/ns scared of her brother Dean because he gets drunk and yells (she's like 4) so she goes to Sam for everything and one day Sam is out at a library and Dean accidentally yells louder than ever so she runs away and Sam finds her and fluff happens where they all make up? Ily!!! @gerardwaysbabyiero
“YN!” Sam yelled for his little sister after walking into the motel room with dinner. “Time for bed.”
“No! Dean said I could finish my show.” She moped.
“Did he?” Sam knew she often pitted the brothers against each other. “Come here,” Sam picked her up and threw her into the air. She squealed out of surprise. He marched himself and YN into the back room. “Dean?” The oldest Winchester turned from his homemade EMP device.
“Yeah?” He smiled when he saw YN in Sam’s arms.
“You didn’t happen to promise YN that she could finish her episode, did you?”
“I did, why?” He turned further to face his siblings.
“She didn’t want to go to bed.”
“It’s going to be over soon, Sam. Lighten up.” Dean rolled his eyes with a grin.
“Yeah, Sammy! Let me watch my show!” YN crossed her arms, happy for the support of her oldest brother.
“You two are terrible.” Sam laughed. “Fine.”
“Yeah!” She pumped her first in the air.
“Well, if you’ve got her covered, I’m going out.” Dean put his EMP detector away and stood up.
“Dean!” YN whined. “Don’t go! You’ll miss my goodnight kisses.”
“You’ll be okay. Sam is here.” Dean dismissed her.
“Meanie!” She squirmed out of Sam’s arms and stomped back to the TV.
“Can you wait til she goes to bed? Please?” Sam begged him, aware of Dean’s recent behavior.
“Dude, she’s fine.”
“Be an ass then. It’s not like her life really doesn’t have a schedule anyway. Mess up what she does have. Enjoy your beer, jerk.” Sam gritted his teeth and followed YN out.
“Thanks, I will!” Dean grabbed his wallet and exited the motel room to go to the bar across the street.
Both Sam and YN fell asleep on the motel couch with the TV on. Dean stumbles in a few hours after they relaxed into a slumber.
“Sammy!” Dean yelled, voice volume out of control. The younger siblings woke with a start.
“Dean! Shh!” Sam stood up and guided his brother to Dean’s queen sized bed. “Don’t disturb her.” He pushed Dean onto his bed, but the older Winchester resisted.
“Sammy?” YN rubbed her eyes. “Why Dean so loud?”
“I got drunk, pumpkin head!” Dean stumbled through the door. “Why are you bothering with stupid questions? I’m tired of it. You never shut up. And Sam told you to be in bed. You are not. You never listen! YN, all you do is cause trouble!” Dean became louder than he had ever been with her. He tripped over his own two feet, falling into Sam.
“Dean! Lay down or I will take your keys and you will sleep in the car. Knock it off!” Sam growled lowly. YN sniffled and scrambled from the couch to her bed and hid under the covers. “Look what you did. She is terrified of you. Go to my bed in the back and chill.”
“No!” He swatted at his brother.
“Fine.” Sam took the keys out of Dean’s pocket and pushed him outside. “Get in the damn car.”
Sam left Dean there to throw a tantrum inside his beloved car. He became tired quickly and lied halfway down on a sweatshirt folded to be a pillow and succumbed to sleep.
———
Dean woke to taps on the window. He shot up from his uncomfortable position on the seat and heard a few pops on his neck. He unlocked the doors.
Sam opened the back passenger door and put YN in her child seat. She was quiet, didn't address Dean at all. Sam handed her some crayons and a coloring book to keep her busy on the way to Bobby’s.
“Hey, pumpkin!” He smiled at her through the rear view mirror. “You sleep good?”
“She did not. Thanks to you. Get out and sit shotgun.”
“No! You don’t drive!”
“You’re hungover with a monster headache.”
“You suck.” Dean hated being called out but switched seats with Sam.
“I loaded our stuff in the trunk already. Shut up and get comfortable.” Sam was curt with his brother.
Dean was confused as to why neither sibling interacted with him as they got closer to Bobby’s, but he let it go.
“Sammy?” YN asked Sam for his attention.
“What, baby?” He looked at her in the mirror.
“Can I have my water please?”
“Here, YN.” Dean tried to pass the bottle to his little sister but she refused.
“NO! Sammy do it!” YN screamed.
“Hey!” Dean yelled back. “Knock it off.” Sam glared at him.
“Here,” Sam took the water container from his brother and handed it to her.
“Fank you, Sammy.”
“What was that?” Dean asked.
“Dean is a meanie! That’s what!” YN retorted.
“Leave it alone, Dean.” Sam admonished.
———
“Sammy! I need my toothbrush!” YN told her brother from the bathroom in their motel room that evening.
“Why do you keep asking for Sam?! I have your toothbrush in my bag!” Dean loudly explained to his sister, somewhat tipsy from his beers.
“No!” She stomped her foot. “You mean! Go away!”
“Why are you being so rude? Ungrateful child! You know, I work hard for you! All you do is get mad at me!” Dean spoke quickly.
“Get out, Dean. Leave her alone.” Sam had retrieved YN’s toiletries from Dean’s duffle and handed her toothbrush to her.
“No! What is going on?”
“I no like you!” YN screamed.
“What?” Dean’s jaw dropped. “Why?”
“You called her an inconvenience the last few times you came back drunk.” Sam connected the dots for him. “You were way out of line, and she is scared of you.”
Dean put down his beer and walked closer to YN. Her body stiffened and she froze in place.
“I am so sorry, sweetheart. I should not have said that. Look, I just got a little frustrated, but I shouldn’t have been a meanie. Please don’t hate me. I would never hate you. Unless you ate my pie.” He booped her nose with his finger.
“Hey!” She giggled. “Stop!” YN put her fingers over her face to prevent another boop.
“Please forgive me?” Dean crouch down to her level on his knees and swept her off her feet. She squealed.
“Okay, Dean. No more hawk-a-hol (alcohol) for you, Mister.” She wagged her finger in his face with a bossy smile.
“Can’t guarantee that, but I’ll pay you in kisses!” Dean took the opportunity to blow strawberries on her cheeks.
“Hey, YN! Did you have fun tonight?” Sam waited up for his sister. She walked down the metal steps to the bunker floor and tried to pass him without a word.
Not like her.
He stepped in front of her to challenge YN’s odd behavior.
“YN! Stop.” His large body was a brick wall that she could not get through. He guided her back so that he could see her face, but she tried to get away. His hands became firm on her arms so that she wouldn’t fight him. “Calm down, sweetheart,” he spoke softly. She expected resistance so his response surprised her. She realized she wasn’t going anywhere so YN calmed. Once she stilled, Sam moved her hair out of her face so that he could read her expression. He saw her covered in bruises from her forehead to her neckline. “Baby,” he started.
“I’m fine,” she looked away.
“And I’m Elmo. Sit down,” Sam spoke evenly. He guided her to the chair he had previously occupied. “What happened?”
“Where’s Dean?” She wiped away a first tear.
“Bar, now talk,” he commanded lightly.
“Friend screwing boyfriend.” YN stared off after her simple answer. “Boyfriend wasn’t happy that I just happened to see them when I went out to get food.”
“I’m gonna kill him. Where were you when this happened?” Sam interrogated. His sister recoiled, jumping at his quick reaction. “I’m sorry. Let’s get you some ice.”
———-
After all of the emotions from the evening, Sam and YN each went to their respective rooms. YN had trouble sleeping. She couldn’t relax, and she was in shock. After staring at the walls of her room for what seemed like hours, her phone beeped.
Boyfriend ❤️
It didn’t mean anything. I’m not dating her.
YN
That’s funny, you were playing tonsil hockey with her. You’re lucky Dean wasn’t home. Goodnight and goodbye.
She blocked his number. All of a sudden, her emotions came rushing at her. She threw her phone against her bed, knocked over anything she could, and screamed through her tears. Sam came running in.
“He said it was nothing!” YN yelled through a tired voice. Using the length of her arm, she moved everything off of her desk with one quick movement. Her older brother saw the destruction, stepped over broken pieces of things that used to be, and forced her arms down.
“Hey!” He got her attention over the notice of her internal dialogue and items crashing against the walls and floor. “You’re okay. I’m going to pick you up so that you don’t cut your feet on all this stuff.” Sam slowly approached her, but she hit his chest and flailed. Sam lifted her into his arms as she resisted and stepped out of the room, avoiding the pieces of angry on the carpet. He plopped her in a kitchen chair. “Have some water, relax a minute,” He soothingly stated. “Here,” he handed the glass to her.
“He said it didn’t mean anything, Sam! He was out with a girl, lip locked and he said it was nothing!” YN hit her fists against the table, rattling the glass.
“I know,” Sam gave a quiet affirmation, not what she was expecting. “But I need you to take a breath. You’re going to hurt yourself if you keep this up.”
After she had calmed somewhat, he guided her wordlessly to his room.
“I need to clean up the mess, Sammy, why are we in here?”
“We are going to sleep and then I am going to clean it tomorrow. You’re exhausted now, just let me help you, okay?” He lifted the sheet for her and she climbed in.
“Okay, I won’t fight the moose,” she giggled. “Thank you, Sammy.”
