Luke always called exactly when he said he would, he nevermissed a phone call while he was away. So when he didn’t call tonight, youstarted to get worried. You paced around the apartment you shared with him andtried to come up with a rational reason about why he couldn’t call.

Your mind was filled with wild possibilities when Calumfinally called.

“Luke’s sick,” he sighed. “He’s gone to bed so I thought I’dcall and say that he wrote you a song before he left. It’s on the flash drivehe told you to keep safe. I better go, I’ve got to check on him.”

Before you could say anything, the line was already dead.You sighed, the final show of the European leg and Luke was sick. You found thememory stick and plugged it into your laptop. The song was one you’d heard himhumming under his breath in a morning. You smiled at how thoughtful it was,wishing more than anything he was at home so you could take care of him. Youput the song on repeat and closed your eyes, listening to every lyric.

The knock at the door made you get up, you sighed when youknew it wouldn’t be the only person you were interested in seeing today.

You opened the door and stared at the plaid wearing giantthat stood in front of you.

“Luke?” you screamed as he wrapped his arms around you.
