I wish Fic Adoption was more of an acceptable thing in fandoms

you know, where someone takes on an abandoned WIP of someone else’s and finishes it? 

I saw someone who’d done that one for a fic of cylin's (I think it was). 

I’m sure it would be a hell of a motivator for writers to finish their own works if they knew someone else might be doing it for them and doing it wrong, (or even worse, doing it better!)
