She ignored the full body throbbing, the piercing pain that hit her every time she took a step on her right leg. But Thorin didn’t care. She needed to see her best friend. She wasn’t going to wait, injuries be damned.
Finding Dwalin was more difficult than she had anticipated, mostly because Thorin hadn’t really had an idea of where he’d be. But she eventually found him, among some of the ruins in the castle. Leaning against a wall for support, Thorin spoke quickly, before the words failed her or before she had time to second guess herself. “Dwalin, I’m sorry.”
