Tumblr’s formatting just makes it look blurry. Since the website is shooting itself in the foot with their constant design changes, it's nice to have something to make it easier on the eyes. I also use it even when it's not night because it looks so much better in my opinion.

It also has a custom accent color option which is prominent in the images with pink.
