Valkyries Don’t Always Wear Dresses (Leon & Forrest)
Though Forrest had managed a mission required of him and the other Golden Deer previously, he found himself wanting to do a little more for his fellow Deer. The problem was, again, trying to build up the confidence to actually go out and partake on these missions. Leaving the academy and potentially not have the skill necessary for a mission... One mission did spell out the requirements quite plainly; experience with bows to help the pegasus riders deal with the projectiles.
Forrest remembered picking up a bow and gently plucking the string, wondering how to tell for sure a bow could really work well. He knew bows were regulated to the outlaws of Nohr to which he was not quite adept at being, but it wouldn't hurt to at least try one out, right? His small practice session was how he ended up getting pulled into the mission by Leon. Normally, Forrest would have confessed right then and there that he had no experience, but he clammed up almost immediately. The truth was, Leon was... beautiful.
Every time Forrest thought of Leon, his heart seemed to run a lap around the entire monastery. He had always considered himself somewhat of an oddity among men; someone who cherished femininity above all others. Knowing there was another man out there, one not afraid to show his beauty was... almost exhilarating in a way. How could Forrest even hope to let him down?
Forrest was almost unusually silent throughout the trip to the Valkyries, not once did he even bring up their appearances. It wasn't until the two showed up and were asked to wait while the Valkyries got ready that Forrest spoke up.
"L-Leon, I... I've been dishonest with you," Forrest sighed, looking positively embarrassed with himself. "The truth is, I... I don't know how to use a bow. I was just experimenting with one when you found me and I... I couldn't bring myself to say no to you. I'm truly sorry," Forrest said as he attempted to not look like such a fool. "I don't suppose you can teach me a thing or two...? I've never been opposed to learning, the less blood on my clothes the better..."
