Upset anons,
I 100% agree with you. Seeing Dae hurt is just plain awful.
There are always so many takes on difficult situations like these - but as long as people are respectful in their criticism of only what happened and stay supportive of Dae - someone who has always done his very, very best for his fans - fingers crossed this whole thing will end up being a useful learning curve for his new career path / business.
I feel that people should be allowed to have their say (especially if it was requested and constructive) but us fans not directly affected by what happened really need to be there, encouraging him and leaving positive comments etc. As always, he deserves all the love ♡

Hi Dae anons ^^
Let’s not delve too deeply into this, because there’s really nothing to it other than Dae showing concern for a few vocal and disgruntled um...fans. If we are being the fairest we can be, let’s say they were worried that he maybe wasn’t using his time wisely? Maybe they wanted him to do something else? Think they know what’s best for him? Being a bunch of raging asshats?
Anyway they were complaining about the timing of his show, what information he was giving out, who he was working with, the help he was getting...so many things fans of a newly agency-less artist have no right to pass judgment on.
He is doing what he feels he has to do in order to keep making music. That’s it.
He’s in charge of his life and livelihood - and like he said in his first vlog type video and fancafe statement, that is very different and difficult for him, but he’s doing it because he’s going to do what he wants on his own terms. He asked us to trust him and watch him. And that he will not address this issue any further.
All of which is sweet dae-speak for: thank you for worrying about me, but please just support me and back tf off my business decisions now. Which is honestly fair enough lol. And he also stated he has plenty of options that he is currently exploring. So let’s let him work and support whatever he is planning.
What are your thoughts on daes recent yt upload? ^^
Oof anon, this might get lengthy lol ^^
This video is both sides of the coin, it’s tough to watch him say some of the things he does, but it’s also great that he is saying them. It’s another gentle call out, but also like he’s clearing his head - both healthy things to do.
Dae is lovely and honest (as per usual) and he seems to be in a better head space than he has been the last couple of months. He, and all of BAP, have been going through such massive changes. From what he has said, even just his day to day life after the switch from being a part of an agency to not, has been strange and difficult. As bad as TS was, I suppose it’s like throwing away a security blanket - he’s not used to not having it.
And that’s just the more superficial aspects of all this. He said that thinking about what comes ‘next’ was the hardest part for him. The way he talks about it, my guess is that being one of the more communicative members, he probably got a ton of messages/questions from people seeking reassurance after (and probably before) the announcements about their contracts were made. That coupled with his own aspirations…that kind of pressure was probably overwhelming.
We all know Dae takes things very seriously and to heart and no doubt people hurt him when they question his every choice. Most of us know to deal with outright hate, but how do you handle being constantly judged by people who claim to adore you? Imo, he’s far more understanding about this than people deserve. We call ourselves a family, but that’s doesn’t mean the dynamics apply in real life. We don’t have access to everything, only what he chooses to share - so making fair and supportive assumptions is fine. But people have to respect the boundaries of an artist-fan relationship.
I’m going to be really nice here and say that fans who are worried, are sometimes prone to entitlement about what they are owed, or what the people they support are allowed to do or say. Most of us know that kind of thinking is never okay. Unfortunately, he’s famous in the era of social media, so this kind of thing is always going to factor into his life, which is awful. We can only hope that all his experience will help him separate out, and deal with the bs..*sigh*
On a happier note, the fact that he made this video at all is a good sign of things to come. Obviously I don’t know him personally, and even if I did, nobody really knows what anyone is thinking/feeling, but I can say, from my own experiences, that it’s really tough to objectively look at yourself and your life when you’re in the thick of a crisis. I doubt he’d be able to make this video and address everything so openly if he wasn’t feeling a bit more confident and self-assured.
And if nothing else reassures you, just look at the kind of people he has surrounded himself with. It’s clear he has kind, supportive friends who he’s totally comfortable with. We are probably seeing only a tiny percentage of the conversations they’ve likely had. Plus the public show of support from Younguplo - and Dae himself showing Yongguk support - means that whatever he (or any of OT6) are going through, they aren’t going through it alone.
He has a lot of things coming up, lots of places we can show him love. His level of fan-engagement is pretty much unmatched, so the least we can do is #SupportBABYHYUN. He’s a true treasure ^^
