Tonight, 6 pm pacific time, I will be doing a live stream glass blowing demonstration of a small inside/out style spoon, and will be talking about the process, risks and what consumers should know about pricing, quality, and the glass market. I've chosen to do a design style that I don't think too many of my fellow glass blowers should object to me showing (we tend to be a secretive lot), because the 'Walmart glass imports' sector already has this style in their repertoire, but is also one that is unique in its approach and might help out some beginning glass artists struggling to figure out basic techniques alone in their garage. I think the best way to fight the walmart-imports battle is to help support individual glass artists, keeping our numbers strong and our quality high.
