Currently researching/practicing making medieval manuscript dragons and dragon like creatures in glass. The plan is to make enough to turn into a frame like a manuscript boarder. I’d go into more detail but this is one element that will be in my senior graduation show in March 🤞

Please be kind about mistakes and not great line work. Trying to drag a tiny piece of glass across a larger peice with a tiny flame all while free handing the drawing is hard.

The plant known as the Blue lotus is a water lily native to fresh waters in eastern Africa and parts of Arabia and Asia. Since ancient times it has been used medicinally and considered sacred by multiple peoples including the Ancient Egyptians, Buddhists and Hindus. The plant contains two compounds in the flower — apomorphine and nuciferine, which make it psychoactive, inducing a calming affect when consumed. For thousands of years this plant has been used in traditional healing and spiritual ceremonies. I flame sculpted this blue lotus flower and lily pad with borosilicate glass and used resin on a mirror to create the water ripple effects for the base. So much rain the past few days, I can’t wait for summer! ☀️ so excited to be outside and warm all the time. I have a big garden project to work on soon / in two months that will be really fun but it’ll be much easier if it’s dry out! I’m sure it will be by then. I’m rambling. And a #borosilicateglass candle holder that will be a cup Because I'm weird. I went hunting a pasta machine, a cup to match a teapot I was gifted, and new chahe.
