📦✉ Its all a lie. ✉📦 Yes i'm sorry, this isnt a free shipping announcement, but a word of advice to always look a little closer. Yesterday Etsy sent out a worldwide email to all sellers, announcing that they will soon be changing how they give buyers their search results and thus will prioritise listings that offer free USA shipping. This means that if i don't offer free shipping to the USA i'm pretty much likely to loose my transatlantic sales. Why don't sellers want to offer free shipping? Well, its never free. The costs for shipping will simply be built into the cost of the product. And it will be the cheapest, least reliable, economy service around, so that it pushes customers to make the decision to pay for additional shipping costs to 'upgrade'. Costs could end up being cut and it could lead to substandard materials being used. Less environmentally friendly materials. When businesses are forced to take on additional costs, ethics and morals slip. Quality slips. I am unfortunately just going to have to accept Etsy's decision to hide my listings in the depths of search results, because i will not be offering free shipping. I refuse to lower my standards of my products, and instead i will always offer transparent shipping costs and options for all my customers no matter where in the world they live. . . . . #etsy #shipping #freeshipping #freeshippingfalacy #supportindependant #supportsmallbusinesses #itsneverfree (at Redhill, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bzuf5XIlkyK/?igshid=1dl1zjdkm7586
