Tododekuweek day 5: Promises
Takes place before “Do you trust me?”
Izuku walked into the hospital asking for Shoto’s room. The nurse smiles and gives him the room number and a visitor pass. He climbs the stairs to the fourth floor reviewing the past month’s events in his head mainly the meltdown Todo had in Hosu after he and Iida and Todo beat Stain.
// “No no no! Don’t call me that!” Shoto cried gripping his hair.
“Shoto what’s wrong?!” Iida asked concerned
“That name feels wrong!” Shoto cried tears going down his cheeks. “Stop calling me that!”
“But it is your name both hero and not??” Iida replied moving to sit beside him.
“I don’t want to be Shoto!” He sobbed on the verge of hysteria.
“Iida what’s going on?!” Izuku limped into the room having just finished his medical exam.
“He just started freaking out when I called his name Midoriya…” Iida replies
“Todoroki what’s wrong?” Izuku asks.
“I don’t want to be Shoto anymore Izu!” He wails reaching for his partner.
“Then what do you want Iida and I to call you love?” Izuku asks stroking Todo’s now neck length hair.
“W-wha-?” Todo stammers through his tears.
“What should we call you?” He repeats rubbing Todo’s shoulders.
“Stella…I want to be Stella…”
Izuku nods at Iida, “Okay Stella it is.” \
There had been other minor breakdowns as Todoroki finally scraped together the guts to tell him that he has always felt like a girl. Izuku of course had sworn not to tell a soul until she was ready to come out as transgender.
Here he is a month later here to support his girlfriend in her first step towards womanhood. He gets to her room and knocks, “Stella?”
“Come in.” She calls back and he walks in going over to her side immediately. She hugs him looking nervous. “It’ll be okay love.” He soothes.
A soft sniffle reaches his ears and he sees that she’s crying. “Hey look at me…” He gently grabs her cheek rubbing the tears away. “What’s wrong?”
“Please d-don’t leave me!” She hiccups looking down.
“Stella look me in the eye.” He says firmly relieved when she obeys. “I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be with you every step of the way on your path to womanhood.”
She nuzzles into his palm her tears dripping between his fingers as she cries. After a few minutes she whispers, “Y-you promise?”
Izuku nods kissing the edge of her scar, “I swear on my life that you’re stuck with me.”
She throws her arms around his neck pressing her wet face into the shoulder of his green boyfriend shirt, “Thank you.” She mumbles into the cloth.
Izuku pats her back until she pulls away, “Let’s take this first step together yeah?”
Stella gives him a wobbly smile her eyes full of unease but, she nods squeezing his hand, “Y-yes let’s.”
