This was a hard bit to distill into a GIF, but I did my best. This is from “Game”.

It’s one of the only moments where if you wanted to be uncharitable, you could argue that Strange is being a bit of a dick.

What I find so fascinating is the unbelievable acting Evans does. 

Morse’s suppressed rage, humiliation and absolute incredulity and barely contained disbelief at Strange’s (maybe) dig is really too much. I edited the shit out of this, and I promise this is absolutely everything there is. The way he clenches his jaw with that disbelieving smirk is everything in life. 

The setup: they’ve run into one another at the mortuary. Morse has offered to go investigate Miss Palfrey’s house for Strange. He’s in a Mood.

The dialogue immediately proceeding this is:

M: I'll take it off your hands if you like. Save you the job. I've nothing else on.

S: Yeah, all right. Suppose I'd better make the most before we lose you to nights. When do you reckon you'll start?

M(grimly): My exam paper never reached Division. "Automatic failure."

I've been thinking about this for a while now and I realized how it's mildly.. no.. very.. concerning..

My suppressed rage is what I mean.

My whole childhood I was abused (verbally, emotionally & physically) over my negative emotions. Which is what caused those negative emotions to keep building, bubbling under the surface. I started lashing out, breaking things, hurting people (and myself) because of all those negative emotions that I was told I "Wasn't allowed" to feel/express. Nowadays that anger either turns into a cold rage that bubbles inside me, or a breakdown where I start uncontrollably sobbing and hitting myself. Often times I have these urges to break things, to lash out, to hurt people.. just one thing to satisfy that anger, but I never do. Even to this day I suppress my anger, because that's all I've ever known how to handle it. And I know it isn't healthy, but there's really nothing else I can do. I won't act on these impulses, but they never do go away..
