Nostalgia 1907 (ノスタルジア1907) - Sur de Wave - Mega CD - 1991
REJECTION: DEN-NO SENSHI
I was floored to hear that there was a game released on the FM Towns that started life as a tie-in to the Kazuo "Gaira" Komizu film Battle Girl: The Living Dead in Tokyo Bay / バトルガール Tokyo Crisis Wars! I could talk about Battle Girl and Guzoo: The Thing Forsaken by God all day....
In practice it's a real time active grid based dungeon crawler RPG. It looks and sounds cool as Hell, the little bit I've seen of it. Gives me the same warm feelings that Shiryou Sensen / War of the Dead does, and that's a good thing if you ask me. Shiryou Sensen across all versions I'd dare say is (ON PAPER) the coolest, most intriguing game out there. I gotta attempt to play this one day... maybe when I'm taking a break from the STG I'll surely be making in Shooting Towns.
Here's a print ad for the game when it was still set to be released as Battle Girl:
Nostalgia 1907 was out today in 1991. Set on the luxury cruise liner Nostalgia, someone has detonated a bomb on the ship.
