The box art to "Simulation RPG Maker 95", featuring an illustration drawn by Takuhito Kusanagi.
Very happy to see that the characters in the new Paranormasight still have very expressive lips just like the first game.
Here's a really cool piece of art depicting the events and characters of Otogirisou, Chunsoft's first sound novel. The illustration was drawn by Mutsuki Amatatsu (天辰睦紀) and was taken from the autumn 1999 issue of Used Games magazine.
I've been thinking about anime OVAs lately, so I made a collage of 50 random titles that I think are neat.
Some of these are all-timers, others are interesting oddities, and a few may not be considered traditionally “good”. Which is Which? Watch them to find out.
Names are listed in the alt text.
Today I got my copy of Trails Beyond the Horizon!
Now, after 15 years and several different publishers, the west is completely caught up with Japan for the very first time. I've been following this series since 2011, so it is kind of amazing to finally see all these games available in English.
The surprise announcement of the Silent Hill 1 remake was really awesome
Was looking for some footage of Tokimeki Memorial 2 recently and instead found this nightmare fuel uploaded on NicoNico by ○9.
!!NEW VIDEO!!
This time I cover Chunsoft’s Sound Novel franchise, a hugely important series in the history of Japanese video games that served as the progenitor to the visual novel genre and was a source of inspiration for all kinds of developers.
Having a pretty chill time looking at the world outside the boundaries of the levels in Donkey Kong Bananza.
The Sakura Wars 2 translation is out!!
Here is a link to the release thread on BlueSky and on Twitter.
This project has been in the works for almost 4 years now and I’ve been actively involved as the lead editor for a little over 3 of those years. Hands down, this was the most difficult project I’ve ever been a part of. Translating something of this scale was only possible thanks to all the time and talent each person on the team poured into this patch. So make sure to thank everyone listed in the release thread for their awesome work!
Sakura Wars is a very special series to me and I'm really excited to see what people think of the game and our work on the translation.
Hope you enjoy it!

Free-to-play versions of some of Falcoms games were apparently released in South Korea as part of a service called FROG in the 2000s. The way it worked was that players would watch ads that periodically popped up during loading screens. Pretty funny to see in action.
I got the video from this 4Gamer article talking about the service in 2007.
A cool two-page advertisement for the original Japanese release of 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors on the Nintendo DS. Taken from the January 2010 issue of Dengeki Games.
A poster of Ogami's Koubu from the Sakura Wars series, drawn by Tomotake Kinoshita. Taken from the November 1996 issue of Monthly Famitsu Bros.
These are a collection of paintings advertising AnEarth Fantasy Stories for the PC Engine CD. I believe these were drawn by the RPG's character designer, Chikanaga Sanae, with each illustration depicting a family that the player can choose to be adopted by.
Each of these were taken from the May-October 1995 issues of Dengeki PC Engine.
