i walked a lone street 't was around midnight on a warm late-spring eve i tracked my feet with my eyes to keep them from running away

i blinked once and the road was gold pure gold blocks smoothed by time and i raised my eyes and saw the golden walls and golden bridge with golden lions at the gates they roared but they moved not and the roar boomed victorious
