wednesday, 08.11.17 No class, but I had to write a last minute article for my school's movie website so I woke up early and wrote that very effectively. It's not very good but I hope it's at least a little interesting. Featuring my breakfast, coffee, grapes and McVities. There was a late Halloween school party in the evening and we had quite the fun. I'm having to relearn how to draw on my Bamboo again. It's never hard for me to switch from either electronic to paper but going from electronic to electronic is a bit of a nightmare.

I'm factory resetting my surface replacement because I might have made a boo boo when setting it up. I don't know if that's what's screwing up Clip Studio or not. I've got two requests right now; you may not see them until the day after tomorrow. I'm sorry.

My new work away from home work station. I probably could have replaced all of this with a bigger laptop but I like photo editing with two monitors plus I can hold club meetings literally anywhere.

I am a tech whore or is it horder?

When my not so trusty iPhone 5 bricked on me suddenly, I needed a new phone .... FAST! I ended up with a Goggle Pixel 2XL. It had more memory (4G ram 64G storage) and a much larger screen. More important, it was cheap. $130 cheap but with anything new, a whole new level of grief breaking in a new piece of tech.

A friend said "that I was the most tech savvy person he knew". I responded, "I struggle with tech." I have the pain of trying those new features ... not to be in the IN-crowd, to figure out how to get it to do what I want and finding it isn't what I expected. Which is why I go for cheap hardware until I figure out if it is of any use or not.

Much as right now I'm using this foldable BT keyboard to type this post. Another piece of tech I've bought at Amazon resellers. Like I need another BT keyboard ... I got plenty. I also use tablets with keyboards for the anime club meetings, largely it is easier to have a couple of tablets with keyboards so everyone can write their reviews without having to play musical chairs on the only screen in the room.

Speaking of tablets, I added Windows Surface 3 (4G ram 128G 128G SD) to replace my failing laptop and tiny 7 inch PC tablet. Once again, I got tired of doing things on a smaller screen. it also doubles as my con PC to prep pictures and also run our club meetings on TV in the meeting room.

Oddly enough, I'm trying to carry LESS, not MORE. I still end up with moe stuff as I grab the next techy thing and try to figure out if it is worth it. I am a hapless tech whore as there is always something new-to-me to try out.
