I'm overdue in sharing a few pics with you guys of the Monsta and Le Pippy out there in the Ments last summer! Can't speak highly enough about your shapes on any day but when you go to the ments you don't want doubts about what you brought and I did not... I rode the monsta pretty much the whole time while figuring out the pippy since it was still new. I put a mini trailer in it a few months ago to lighten up the weight in the fins and it has been MAGIC!! Just goes anywhere I want it to instantly. Confessions from a Prodigal Returning Home: stoked surfer report (special edition / on the heels of a cold dark journey through the wilderness) >> “Todd and Charissa, It's time, with a heavy heart I have to come clean and confess...I've been exclusivly riding other brands of boards for the last 6 months. All of the last year I've been doing a major house remodel, I got fat and was super stressed...and obviously my surfing level was affected by that...but it was far easier to blame the boards than blame myself...so my wandering eye strayed to some off the rack sleds. It felt like cheating at the time...but I had to mix it up and try something new. Sure, there were some fun moments some new experiences but...in the long run I didn't find what I was looking for. I lost all surf confidence as I did not feel I was ever really in sync with my equipment...every turn has felt awkward and forced...the the point where I've really not been enjoying surfing. Yesterday however I went to my garage and grabbed a slightly yellowed 5'8" jetstream and put it under my arm. The curves felt so familiar, so comfortable, so damn good that I went straight down to the local for a surf. The first wave I got was magic, tons of speed on take off, a acceleration through turns, great flow and just so damn lively feeling. I was in love again with surfing and with you boards. If you guys would consider taking me back and allow me to order some boards again I promise will never stray again. Stoked surfer reports: this just in >> “Todd - I don’t know about this holy monsta bonzer. It catches everything and gets into waves way too early and easy. On top of that, it’s super fast and makes the sections others can’t. It’s just not fair to everyone else in the lineup. Carves and bottom turns are silky smooth and the drive it generates is insane. The board makes me at least a 3x better surfer than I really am. Oh, and I can’t even get to and from the lineup without being stopped by people freaking out about the board - saying how cool it is and asking how can they get one. Even the old guys are eyeing it and thinking of going short again. Seriously Todd, I just don’t know about this one......I think maybe you should destroy the file on this board. I wanted to get a custom board from you for a long time, and was hoping the experience would meet my expectations. Well, I’m so stoked on this board you made me. Just what I was hoping for and more; an all-around high performance board that lets me get way more critical. I’m able to throw it into steeper parts of the wave where I think I’m not going to ride out and it feels like the nose is super free and rides out of stuff I’m not expecting it to. It took me like my first three waves to figure out how the Flyin Lion generates speed, but once I got that back foot over those concaves in the tail, that ‘gas pedal’ you told me about when I picked the board up, then wow after that it was on, so fast yet grippy so I could push as hard as I want, and just a natural perfect fit for me. Just what I was hoping for. I think this epoxy technology is a key part too; the high density foam stringer in the epoxy core with carbon is so thwangy and lively responsive. And it works not just in good waves, but in like two foot I can do full wraps too.
