Fresh Seer recovery + scouting
There are some of you here that may be wondering how someone becomes a seer to pilot drone swarms.
First comes the tests to see if they can multitask. Similar to how hounds adapt to mechs as second nature, seers adapt to having multiple bodies the same way. most Seers also test positive on the same mech compatibility tests as well.
A seer can fail the Mech compatibility test but that does not mean they will fail the drone test. once they pass they may have dysphoria afterwards, since they are now one body again similar to how hounds are. Be sure to give them a hug and praise and make sure they are okay. give them some water and cuddles while also scheduling for their surgeries.
Most subjects will panic upon finding out their main body will be blinded. it is important to make the seer conditioned for their handler and to love them before continuing to this step. if not then you risk them hurting themselves or disobeying orders. (if the handler wants to surprise their seer its recommended to have them restrained and have the starter drones have safeties.
It is recommended to be there when they wake up and give them lots of pets while their new cybernetics heal, they can NOT lay on their backs for at least 3 months. Handlers are to gently sponge bath the Seer and gently trace between the antenna and ports to promote nerve regrowth in the body.
A seer is much higher maintenance at the start than some Hounds, however afterwards they can be easier to control. You as their handler can turn their extra bodies off. Note prolonged cutoff from their drones can lead to elevated stress levels and mental distress in a Seer.
It is recommended to start syncing exercises with the Seer after 5 days of healing. Do not let them try piloting as their body is still adjusting to the new implants still.
At the 3 week mark of having them sync with drones it is recommended they try to stand up with Handler's help. while connected to one drone to feel the differences in the body. DO NOT use drones with visual sensors or the ability to move. this can lead to damage to both the drone, handler, AND OR Seer.
At the 4th week mark you can let the Seer explore what happened to their eyes and also begin to have them connect to three drones. From there you are to restore sight and this will lead to most Seers freaking out. it is important for the handler to comfort the Seer.
At the 8 week mark after slowly increasing the drone count the Handler is to now give them one drone to pilot. while being connected to the others and also being unable to move their main body, after 3 days of practice you introduce the Seer to their own body into the mix. when it is show to be proficient in being able to move and pilot have them repeat it with two drone. continue adding one when they become proficient with it.
By the 10 week mark the Seer should be able to pilot 10 drones with some proficiency. By week 12 they should be able to connect to 30 drones but not pilot all of them at once yet. they should be able to stretch their body now and be able to lay on their back.
It is recommended that you then move to mech piloting. That training is in another guide.
