A mix of sushi and burgers that tastes like a regular burger but is made with fresh sushi rolls. Great for people who like both sushi and burgers!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 hamburger buns. 4 tbsp real butter. 1 cup sushi rice, cooked and seasoned with rice vinegar. 4 nori sheets seaweed. 1 cucumber, thinly sliced. 4 slices of ripe avocado. 4 slices of smoked salmon. Soy sauce and wasabi for serving.
Instructions: Warm up the grill or pan on the stove over medium-high heat. Separate the ground beef into 4 equal parts and shape them into burger patties. Add salt and pepper to the patties. On each side of the hamburger buns, put 1 tablespoon of real butter. You can grill or pan-fry the buns until they are golden brown. Put away. Grill the burger patties until they're done the way you like them. For medium-rare, that should take about 34 minutes per side. Place a nori sheet on top of a piece of plastic wrap while the patties are cooking. The nori sheet should have a thin layer of sushi rice on it. Leave some space around the edges. On top of the rice, put slices of avocado, cucumber, and smoked salmon. Use the plastic wrap to help you carefully roll up the nori sheet into a sushi roll. To make "caterpillar" shapes, cut the sushi roll into 1-inch-thick slices. Put a grilled burger patty on the bottom half of each bun that has been buttered. Add a few slices of the sushi roll "caterpillar" to the top of the patty. Put some soy sauce on top and wasabi on top if you want to. Use a toothpick to hold the top bun on the burger in place if you need to. Enjoy the Caterpillar Sushi Roll Burgers while they're still hot.
