A week. It had been a week since he last saw Sol at lunch time.
The first days, he tried to not get so worked up over it; she might have been too busy to come, or she just went to eat somewhere else. He forcefully ignored the other idea that his mind was not so helpfully supplying, that she just got tired of him like others already have before. He refused to believe that- they were friends, and they understood each others’ anxiety and problems very well. There had to be another explanation.
When more time passed and there was still no sign of her, Tamaki was really starting to get worried, a horrible feeling settling in the pit of his stomach.
It was only when he mustered up enough courage to ask someone what happened, that he learned of her hospitalization. He didn’t get nothing more than a quiet ‘she’s in the hospital’, and didn’t really feel like asking for more. He had his fair share of hospital trips already, he better than anyone else knew how common this could be for a hero, student or professional.
He tried to go visit her, really, but his own internship and studies were already taking up too much of his time to even afford a quick visit. That and he already got roughed up enough to effectively get Recovery Girl to ground him- apparently he wasn’t allowed to dismiss a dislocated shoulder and a twisted ankle as ‘nothing more than a scratch’.
And so a week passed, slowly getting used again to eat alone, and before he could realize it, there was a nervous figure fidgeting with her scarf as she made her way to the roof.
“S-Sol-! A-are you ok..?”
