KENTUCKY GOBLIN GROUND - Kelly, Kentucky. Spray painted lines denote where the walls of the former Sutton House in Kelly, Kentucky once met at its northeast corner. On the night of August 21st, 1955, the Sutton Family home was allegedly besieged by strange beings, following an encounter a flying saucer, in what would come to be known as "The Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter." While getting water from the well, witness Billy Ray Taylor claimed to have observed a colorful “flying saucer” traversing the early-evening sky above the farm. Soon after, a group of short, "bug-eyed" creatures with large ears were seen to exit the tree line and began to harass those inside the house (peering through windows and climbing on the roof). Gunfire erupted as the frightened farm folk shot at the curious “goblin-like” beings with no apparent effect. At the first opportunity, the family fled to nearby Hopkinsville to report the "invasion" to the authorities. The resulting investigation and media frenzy launched the "Goblin Encounter" into the realm of famous unexplained UFO cases. Each August, Kelly celebrates the "Kelly-Hopkinsville Goblin Encounter" in the field next to the incident location during it's annual "Little Green Men Days" UFO Festival. This unusual Close Encounter remains Unknown and is considered a classic tale in UFO Lore. BEHOLD! THE KENTUCKY GOBLIN! - Lexington, Kentucky. A life-size representation of a Kelly-Hopkinsville (Kentucky) “Goblin” seen at the 2019 Cryptid Con event held at Lexington’s Clarion Hotel. This curious “alien creature” shared the stage with “Alien Legacy” author Geraldine Sutton-Stith as she recounted the bizarre and frightening events of August 21st, 1955, at her grandmother’s farm in Kelly, in which the Sutton Family home was reportedly besieged by a group of these “goblin-like” beings following the sighting (and likely landing) of a flying saucer. The famous “Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter” is a classic case in UFO lore that remains unexplained to this day. THE SUTTONS BACK ON THE ALIEN GOBLIN FARM - Kelly, Kentucky. Elmer "Lucky" Sutton Jr. and Geraldine Sutton Stith take a ride through the location of the famous August 21, 1955 "UFO Goblin Encounter" in Kelly, Kentucky. It was on this former farm where members of the Sutton Family (their father, Elmer "Lucky" Sutton Sr., being a prime witness), and others, allegedly fought off an all-night "invasion" by strange "silvery creatures" following the sighting of a colorful flying saucer. The town of Kelly now celebrates the legendary "Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter" each August with a "Little Green Men Days" UFO Festival held next to the encounter site. Elmer "Lucky" Sutton Jr. recently played his father in the independent feature film "Invasion of Kelly" (2017, dir. Joseph Aguon Drake) - which dramatizes the incident and premiered in Hopkinsville this August. Geraldine Sutton Stith is an author ("Alien Legacy" and "Kelly Green Men: Alien Legacy Re-Visited") who has been interviewed on numerous TV/radio programs, has spoken to several groups about her family's famous encounter, co-produced and co-wrote the "Invasion of Kelly" film, and serves as a key Festival organizer and spokesperson.
