Suze Randall

Born in Worcester, England, in May 1946, Suze was working as a nurse at St George’s Hospital in London in the very early 1970s when she saw a newspaper advertisement for topless models offering £100 a day, ten times Suze’s weekly wage as a nurse. This led her into nude modelling and later into modelling for fashion magazines. After the high point her career at that stage, being photographed for Vogue in 1974, she decided to become a photographer initially selling nude shots of her fellow model friends to The Sun newspaper for it's infamous Page 3 slot. In 1975, Hugh Hefner saw Suze's photos of Lillian Müller and he flew her to Playboy's main office in Chicago and offered her an exclusive contract as a Playboy photographer. Suze was the first woman to shoot a full frontal pictorial for the magazine. After she published her autobiography Suze in 1977, she self photographed an explicit nude pictorial of herself to promote the book which was published in Hustler. Hefner was horrified and fired her. Suze would then go on to photograph more explicit pictorials for Hustler and Penthouse during the 1980s and into the 1990s. Just about every famous adult star and nude model has worked with her, and Suze's photographs have appeared in almost every men's magazine on the planet. In the late 1990s, having kept the rights to all the pictorials she photographed, she went online and published them on the subscription based Suze.net which at it's peak was making $400,000 a month. In the mid 2010s she sold the business and retired.
