Since I have seen Sven Regener in a literature programme I am a fan of him as a person and his great band "Element of Crime", check it out. So I had to read "Herr Lehmann". Wow. This book is a new favorite. The setting is Berlin, Kreuzberg, full of taverns. Authentic is the word. The characters are so genuine, the places are so real and that‘s not all. Regners writing style is exactly the way of a life in that milieu. Lehmann, also his friend Karl, he is without prospects, maybe lonely but accepting that, he doesn't see it anymore. Sometimes one finds a girlfriend, he rather works than having too much time. Some day one gets crazy, the politics trouble, new people come, Lehmann needs a change, but first let‘s get a drink. It is satisfying well written!
