I’m so deeply grateful and touched, and I truly wished for this, that we get to see such reactions for Loki, showing that there were people who cared for him, who truly saw and valued him, and to whom he genuinely mattered. Because that’s also what he deserved.
I had also hoped so much for that.. that Thor would cared for him as well. It would have been wonderful to see more interactions between them.
Every time, it breaks my heart and brings me to tears when I see that moment.. Ares in panic, unable to accept that Loki is truly gone and when it hit him, he couldn’t hold back his tears and feels so lonely without him. I’ve always liked Ares, but this showed me even more that he truly has a heart of gold. Also Hlökk seems deeply affected by it.
Even Siegfried, who had every right to despise him, cried for him in the end, because he never wished for this to happen, and because he knew how hard it must have been for Brunhilde, who was so close to him.
Through Buddha’s words, who said how alike Loki and Brunhilde were, she understood why he had done this to her. In that moment, I also think, she realized how deeply he must have loved her. She saw the similarity between them, for both were willing to go to the extremes for love, to sacrifice everything just to hold on to it, never to lose it..
Those moments from the past are so heartwarming, beautiful, and sweet. Everything he did just to see her smile again, to make her happy, is truly wonderful... but at the same time, thinking of how things turned out, it feels so bitter and painful.
But in the end, what Loki had desired for so long, he could bring back her smile, if only for a moment and even though he could no longer see it himself...
