Queer Star Wars Characters (Round 1): Battle of the Eirami Queens
Adrellia/Ordellia vs Thandeka/Dima
Adrellia/Ordellia
Thandeka/Dima
Adrellia/Ordellia | Identity: wlw couple | Media: The High Republic Phase II
Adrellia and Ordellia are the Queen Regnant and Queen Consort respectively of the planet of Eiram during Phase II of the High Republic (382 BBY). They are the adoptive mothers of Phan-Tu, an orphan from a poorer part of the planet. They led Eiram through the Forever War with E’ronoh, and when Phan-Tu fell in love with the princess of E’ronoh, they supported that attempt to bring peace. However, the first challenge to this peace would be the discovery of the deal Adrellia made with the Mother of the Path of the Open Hand to manufacture Thylfire Scorpion poison in exchange for food and weapon shipments the planet desperately needed. Adrellia’s rule is defined by the hard decisions she needed to make, and ultimately the love and trust she had for her son.
Thandeka/Dima | Identity: wlw couple | Media: The High Republic Phase I
Thandeka and Dima are the Queen Consort and Queen Regnant of Eiram during Phase I of The High Republic (230BBY). 25 years before The High Republic, Eiram and E’ronoh were locked in a Cold War, the result of their long standing enmity. The criminal organization known as the Directorate mistakenly kidnapped Thandeka when they meant to kidnap Dima and held the Queen Consort hostage with the monarch of E’ronoh. This shared experience and their rescue by the Jedi allowed the two planets to begin a new age of cooperation. When Starlight Beacon fell over Eiram, Dima made the decision to trust the Jedi and not preemptively shoot down the Beacon with people still inside to protect her people- a decision which paid off. Thandeka argued strongly for this decision.
