"Do you call this your home?"
Spectre (Forsaken) x Reader || Drabble
CW: Slight dark themes, Yandere, Obsessive behavior, GN reader.
It all started back in december. That faithful day the game you've been waiting for quite a long time on Roblox, "Forsaken", has finally released. You didn't waste any time, playing it as much as you can, devoting most of your time to it. Leveling up your favorite characters, getting all of the possible achievements, exploring the game's lore and finding easter eggs.
One of your favorites might have of been the eerie, creepy phrases that popped up on your screen. You found it accidentally - opening up another app to speak to your friends but taking a bit too long. Despite them being scripted, you felt uneasy and you liked it. It was sparking flames of your interest, eventually searching about the character behind these.
But everything comes to an end, so did your interest for this game. It became plain, boring, you were burnt out from constant playing. New updates would intrigue you for some time before you dropped the game again.
That's when you started to notice a weird pattern - whenever you got interested in another asymmetrical survival game on roblox, something bad would suddenly happen to it. Deletion, drama, cancellation. You were devastated from the loss of your favorite games but you never paid too much mind to these weird coincidents, thinking its just unfortunate events.
Here you are - checking out yet another update on Forsaken, trying to keep yourself entertained. You've died once again. Sent to the lobby, you have nothing else to do but chat with your friends whilst you wait for the round to end.
You remember about the fun easter egg you liked, you decide to look at it again. You hover your mouse over the roblox icon, opening the screen of the game but not entering it. Everything seems like normal, same old eerie phrases but.. something was wrong.
"i've been waiting for you."
"did you think you can escape?"
"you would never make it far."
"they're gone now."
"you don't have a choice."
"you never did."
"you will always return to me."
"you will always come back and play."
"you belong to me."
"this is your home."
You sit in your chair, frozen in confusion. Weirded out, devastated. Those lines didn't feel scripted anymore, they felt like it was talking directly to you. You brush it off, closing the game for your own sake, mumbling that you wont ever play it again.
Worst thing? You keep coming back. Just like it wants you to.
Notes: THIS IS A REALLYYYY UNSERIOUS DRABBLE, based on my friend's idea. That was my first ever time writing x reader stuff since usually it's not the type of works I do. Hope you enjoyed!! ^_^ Cross posted on my AO3.
