Augochlora pura on Helianthus angustifolius / Pure Green Sweat Bee on Narrowleaf Sunflower at the Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo, NC
I stuck some swamp sunflower cuttings in the pond container to try and root them and apparently tadpoles think they are delicious, which has revealed the fact that sunflower stalks are full of the exact same kind of fibers as flax.
So now I'm gonna have to look up if I can use them as an alternative to cotton for making my own yarn since I can't grow that legally.
My swamp sunflowers fell over, but they are still blooming and my bees & wild pollinators are still enjoying them.
