Kind of like giving a movie review half way through and before the big twist that makes everything make sense.
No matter what happened last night i think to some degree it was bound to feel unsteady because you simply cannot cover that much ground in 42 minutes and do it well, let alone all of the emotional territory they chose to lean into.
In someways not only did last night need to begin the hard work of excavating and righting old storylines, but the episode also by nature was meant to launch new storylines and cover new character development and so it did.
Normally I’d have lots of little things to pick apart but right now I feel like there’s a lot of context we are missing and that is just brand new ground for me with this show. I’m just used to having the context first and whatever emotional story told dead last.
