Swan family
Entry #1
"Never forget the day we start. All at the top start from the ground."
On the eleventh day of the first month of year three post-pandemic, I decided to step into sharing my stories publicly. It is nerve-wracking, I must say but a good companion of mine told me:
"It is better to try than to do nothing at all."
I will be starting with my compilation of short stories inspired by real-life situations with pixie dust on Wattpad.
Kindly pardon me for my incompetence in some aspects, hence, I would be grateful if you can share insights into my upcoming pieces.
To my future first and upcoming swanlings, I look forward to the intertwining of our paths.
Recently, on Quackdown: UNITY OF PURPOSE. I went away for a week so I hadn't seen the birbs for a while, and it seems they missed me because they made a rapid approach manoeuvre as soon as they saw me. The swanzilla kids are halfway to being white, the whole family got fed, along with a duck who was maintaining a perimeter patrol. It seems the ducks and swans are united in their demands for brunch. I just hope they don't unionise. #swanlings #swansofinstagram #duck #duckstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CG29Munp1Q6/?igshid=m77h1zfnmfc1
Recently, on Quackdown: OBEDIENCE TRAINING. I encountered the Swanzilla family in a field pretending they were in Jurassic Park. I rustled their food bag at them and they got the idea, forming a column as they crossed the water to get lunch. The other day they were splashing around having a bath and totally ignored me when I tried to feed them but today they were hissing at me, demanding more. Proper little feathery grumpy bastards. #swanzilla #swanlings #swansofinstagram #swanstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CF21bNWJKDV/?igshid=b5iv65vx6cyt
This afternoon, on Quackdown: SWAN SIESTA. The Swanzilla family were asleep in the sun, just floating and snoozing. So I woke them up and fed them, which left them quite confused. An hour later, on my way back home, I encountered them again, only about 50 yards further downstream than they were when they were sleeping. Lazy buggers. And before some Swan Justice Warrior starts giving me crap about the crisis of underemployment in the swan population: I really don't care. #swans #swansofinstagram #swanstagram #swanzilla #swanlings https://www.instagram.com/p/CErs5kzJ_i5/?igshid=4vy69bhe08kl
This morning, on Quackdown: DAWOL (Ducks Absent Without Leave). Dunno where the ducks have gone, only seen one in the last week or so. Maybe they're on their summer holidays. After several walks without feeding any waterfowl I eventually tracked down the Swanzilla family today - the kids are now massive and are starting to turn white, and they all got plenty of breakfast but still wanted more. They're very sweet mannered about it though. #swanzilla #swanlings #swans #swanstagram #swansofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CD8_BIzHxCD/?igshid=15eubj3clr9yd
This afternoon, on Quackdown: PARANORMAL QUACKTIVITY. Aside from the super-protective mum and her two demi-ducks I didn't see a single quacker today, they must all be at Comic-Con or something. Canal was a bit eerie in their absence. But the Swanzilla family were on their way into town so I stopped and had a chat with them, fed them and took some pics. The kids are still growing at an astonishing rate and eating everything in sight. I promise to keep documenting their development, sooner or later they have to turn white, right? #swanzilla #swans #swanlings #swansofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CDKA-yRn_9D/?igshid=1dysdwj408j0p
