Prince of Lucis, King of Jokes

drabble for @swcctmagix. TOTALLY NOT BASED OFF THIS. NOPE.

Noctis leans his head on Prompto’s shoulder, looking down at his phone.“Dude is there updog in there?”

Taken out of the immersion away from his game of a new gacha game that debuted the other day, Prompto eyed Noctis. Brows furrows in confusion. 

“Dude, what are you talking about? I don’t know what updog is?”

Noctis gave his best friend his puppy dog eyes. “Updog?”

Still confused, but unable to resist Noct’s puppy dog eyes, he lets out a small laugh. “What are you saying?

“Nahh, It’s updog.”

The hell? Confusion still masked his features. “What is updog?”

Immediately, Noctis beamed triumphantly, clapping away. Laughing at his well earned victory.

Prompto stares at his friend. Has he gone.....Shit! Noctis actually got him with it! “Oh, fuck! Really dude?”

Random onlookers glanced at the two, the louder Noctis laughed. Clapping loud, despite the brace he wore as an accessory. Who cares if they were staring? Noctis can finally die happy knowing he got Prompto all of people with the updog joke. He didn’t even need to finish it now! 

Prompto had to give credit were credit is due. He started laughing too. “Weeellllll, aren’t you proud of yourself?”

Noct’s laugh delved into hysterical laughter. Watching his friend look happy like that Prompto started to laugh too.

The grin on the prince’s face stretched from ear to ear as he approached his friend, still laughing. 

“I have never in my life ever gotten to work!”

Prompto wrapped his arm around Noctis’s shoulder. “What is up, dog?”

Hearing Prompto repeat the joke in a low, cheerful voice sent Noctis back into hysterics.

Celes had just arrived in Lestallum. She felt a bit LOST - they were so many people around, probabaly because that town was safe, unlike many other places. When she had arrived in Lucis, she had quickly come there, but hadn’t stayed, and had already started slaying daemons at night, as a mercenary. However, now that the world was becoming darker and darker, she had realized that maybe she could officially join the hunters. But because she had never joined them, she didn’t know where to start. That was why, when she saw Lady Lunafreya, she decided to approach her. She had seen the Oracle a few times, back in Niflheim, and it felt good to see her alive and well in other circumstances. They hadn’t talked much though, probably because Celes had been working for Niflheim, back then.

“Lunafreya. It’s good to see you again.” She started, smiling softly.

Oh.. dear. It was a little awkward, coming to speak with Sayori. They didn’t talk much and that was a shame. Perhaps this would be the right day to fix that. After all, she was arguably the biggest ball of sunshine in the club, so there was nothing to be intimidated by, right?

Still, even approaching her, Yuri found a way to be anxious.

Takumi was exhausted. His nightmares, seemingly without reason, had gotten worse. Usually it was only around the end of the year that they every got this way, but it couldn’t have even been summer yet. He sighed, rubbing his temples. On top of everything, there were the headaches...

He barely noticed the person approaching him. Gods, he really needed to sleep...

“What?” he asked, exhaustion evident. He hoped he just sounded tired, not snappy....
