on his second quest, atticus felt a lot more secure in his gifts. despite the quest going almost as horribly as it could have, everyone in their party survived and killed the monsters. he even got a beautiful lions lane as a reward, though he still needed to decide what he was going to do with it. once they returned to the camp, he nearly collapsed to the ground and thanked his mother that he was back safely. the first thing he wanted to do was spend the rest of the day in a bath before crashing for the evening.
once nightfall was cast over the camp and atticus was getting ready for bed, he couldn't sleep. there was one person on his mind, silas. although he knew almost nothing about the man, they now had a bond from today's quest. he'd stopped his fellow godling from falling to his death and tried to protect him during the fight. still in his night attire, atticus grabbed a lantern and made his way across the camp to find the others cabin. he didn't know if silas even cared to talk to him, but he still felt an obligation to check in on him.
"uh, hi" he said once silas opened the door. "i know it's late, i.. just wanted to check on you. make sure you were okay." he was trying not to be awkward about this, even if that was hard for him. "want me to check your cuts?"
