DANI: Dani told me you wanted me to text you. Something about tracing my tattoos with your tongue? Idk.
DANI: 😏😏😏
DANI: I guess it's a date!
DANI: As for where we're going, that's totally your call. If I plan to woo you, I have to make sure I take you to your favorite place. So, where's that?
Dani would be the first to admit that her fashion sense wasn’t exactly amazing. She tended to go for comfort over style, so her everyday outfits consisted of things like baggy army or jean jackets and leggings, or band tees with skinny jeans. Fortunately, she had an older sister to help her out with those things, and Addi was probably responsible for every nice item of clothing in Dani’s closet from their various shopping trips over the past couple years. With her sister’s help, they’d picked out what turned out to be a cute outfit, and Dani had curled her hair and put on makeup for the occasion. She wanted Vera to know that all talk of caramel flavored lube aside, she really was serious about this date, and she wanted to make a good impression.
So much so that she’d insisted on picking Vera up right from her door like a true gentlewoman, and had opened doors for her just like she said she was going to, letting Vera on the subway train before her and making sure she got off first, with Dani following closely behind, then had done the same with the door once they’d reached the bar. It was on the same street as the restaurant Vera had picked, but they were early, so Dani figured it would be a good idea to loosen up with a couple drinks first, since despite how confident of a person she may have been, this was still a first date, so Dani was naturally kind of nervous. She figured she was doing a good job at hiding that so far, though.
“At what point am I allowed to turn on the charm before it sounds creepy or rehearsed?” She asked once they’d ordered their drinks, sitting side by side at the bar. It was Sunday evening, the place was pretty busy, so Dani figured they’d lucked out with the two empty bar stools, although she would’ve preferred the privacy of a table. At least they’d have that at dinner. She was just happy to be in Vera’s company, though, so she wasn’t complaining. “Because I mean, you really do look incredible tonight, and even though I totally would’ve said that regardless, I really do mean it.”
