Swedish fire log or Swedish torch or Canadian candle. Fire logs are a great one-log Fire. They’re a good option when the ground is wet or snowy. There are a couple ways to make them. The first way involves splitting a seasoned round into 6 or so pieces with you axe and then reassembling the log holding it together with wire. I chose the second way for this seasoned log as it was too knotty to split. Make three cuts down the top with your saw to within a few inches (several cm) of the bottom. To light you can build a small fire on top that will drop embers down the center or you can drop a lit fire starter down the center. The beauty of this fire method is that you have a warming fire and a sturdy cook top for your cast iron. A Dutch oven with feet seems to work better than a flat pan. Give it a try! . . . #stihl #chainsaw #swedishlog #campfire #campcraft
