Date Ideas for Married Couples
One of the challenges in being married is learning how to keep a romantic and fun spark alive even when you seem to see each other day in and day out.
My husband and I love date nights and we have become dedicated to making it about so much more than going places.
Here’s some date ideas we have found to be fun and helpful for keeping a spark alive:
1. Have a Chinese Food Picnic at a Park
Order some Chinese fast food and eat it together at a park. Even better if you can get a view! Turn off the phones and use chopsticks to share the food and talk about the goals and dreams on your hearts.
2. Have a Photoshoot Day on a Boat
If you can, borrow or rent a boat and cruise on a lake for a day. Pack snacks and drinks that you don’t normally splurge on and different outfits for a boat photoshoot. Wear matching sunglasses if you can!
3. Go for a Night Drive
When it’s a clear night, go for a drive, windows down and cruise through the city or on a highway bridge and blast some deep house music. Make a stop for ice cream or drinks outside. Simply embrace the night lights and scenery with each other. The world is always a little more romantic at night.
4. Go on a City Tour
You can book a city tour or make your own route but the magic is in having an hour or two dedicated to seeing a city or neighborhoods from a new perspective. Our favorite self-guided tours are getting lost in super wealthy neighborhoods 😂
I hope these ideas help keep that spark alive! Don’t give up and keep fighting for a future of happiness.
Cute Couple Date Ideas
We have weekly date nights to keep the romance alive in our six year marriage. Below are some of our favorite date activities! Which ideas sound fun to you?
Take a bakery tour!
We love trying out local bakeries. I will typically search on Yelp for the best places to get donuts, cupcakes, chocolates, and cookies in the city, and then spend a day acting as food bloggers! We like to order 2-4 different items at each bakery and take pictures and videos of each other reviewing the treats.
Get unique henna tattoos.
A few years ago, Solomon and I decided to get henna tattoos at the Minnesota state fair. We had such a good time choosing the designs for each other and ended up having zero regrets because the henna only lasted about a week. I got a giant Koi fish and Solomon got his favorite saying, “You mad bro?” 😂
Do a home spa treatment together.
One of our favorite date night activities is doing facials together. It sounds like a lot of work but we find it to be a fun way to help each other de-stress. We will typically use a peel off mask or Korean face mask set and turn on a silly movie. After about 15 minutes, we take turns peeling off the masks on each other’s faces and then relax in our jammies.
Watch the sunset near water.
Anytime we can catch a sunset together, I find it can somehow soften our hearts for each other. We love visiting a pond, lake or riverfront around sunset and just taking the time to sit and quietly observe the sun fall asleep. We usually end up talking about our innermost thoughts or planning a new life goal together because the strawberry sky can make us feel dreamy.
