This homemade berry jam is bursting with the flavors of fresh mixed berries and a hint of zesty lemon. It's a delightful addition to your breakfast or dessert table.
Ingredients: 2 cups mixed berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 lemon, juiced and zested. 1 teaspoon pectin optional for thicker jam.
Instructions: After washing and shelling, put the berries in a big pot. To the berries, add the sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the pectin now if using it to make a thicker jam. After lowering the heat to low, simmer the mixture, stirring periodically, for 20 to 30 minutes, or until it thickens to the right consistency. Take it off the stove and give it some time to cool. Sterilized jars should be filled with jam and sealed. Let the jam cool fully before putting it in the fridge. Savor your homemade berry jam as a topping for desserts or on toast or pancakes!
