Starter for @sweetlikebubblegum
The high-energy gig had disgorged its largely teenage crowd into the streets to wend their excitable, hormonal ways home. Being amongst the more seasoned audience members in the expensive seats, Shoji took more time to reach the exit, and when he got there he found he didn’t feel like heading back straight away. His ears rang with the final chorus, blood pounding to the beat of the encore and urging him on. It would be a shame to leave the night so young when he didn’t have work in the morning.
He wandered over to a nearby bar. It seemed full, already - a sign of a good night to come. He made to step in, but a large figure blocked his way.
“Pass, sir?”
Shoji looked down at the lanyard around the bouncer’s neck. Hot pink, and bearing the logo of the concert. He’d stumbled on the afterparty. Now, that was some luck. Even if the star herself wasn’t there it was sure to be a wild time. And if she was, even better.
He eyed up the state of the man’s shoes and clothes as he took a business card from his wallet, judging the requisite amount of cash to hide behind it as he pressed it into the man’s hand.
“My apologies, I must have lost it on the way.”
The bouncer looked Shoji up and down and pocketed the cash discreetly. “Don’t give me any more trouble.”
Shoji stepped inside, scanning the assembled patrons to look for Ally as he made a beeline for the bar.
