My boy Chamoy <3
he's surprisingly good!
Some Sour Candy characters !! Made refs for them finally <3 Chamoy Nango is a mafia boss type character who has his employees find sweets that have escaped to sour territory. He's a cruel man but smart in securing safety for his "Family" Chandler (Sour punch lady) works for Nango as his main muscle, she often does the job of fetching people for him or acting as a body guard but she's actually quite kind outside of work. Rebel is a Dutch Rebel Soda! (Pomegranate flavor) He's a keeper with his ferret Fizzo and acts as a "guide" to people who get lost in the city (Often times scamming them out of their money) but if he finds a sweet he sells them out to Chamoy for a price.
I dont remember ordering burnt pancakes
The eternal debate, ranked by science and personal bias why we love sour things
There's actual neuroscience here. Sour taste triggers a stronger sensory response than sweet — it activates more taste receptors and produces a sharper, more memorable flavor experience.
Sour gummies (the ones coated in citric acid that make your face involuntarily contort) are beloved because the contrast between the initial sour hit and the sweet gummy underneath creates a flavor arc. It's not just a taste — it's a tiny experience.
Sour worms. Sour bears. Sour everything. This category isn't going anywhere. but sweet has depth Sweet gummies — especially fruity ones — have their own devoted following for entirely different reasons. They're about comfort, nostalgia, and straightforward pleasure.
The top flavors globally (raspberry, strawberry, tropical, watermelon) are beloved because they're consistent. They taste like what they say they taste like. There's no shock, no challenge — just satisfaction.
For wellness gummies especially, the sweet fruit profile is often preferred because it doesn't interfere with the supplement experience. You're not fighting the gummy — you're just taking your vitamin. the verdict For candy gummies: sour wins. The experience is more interesting. For supplement gummies: sweet wins. Consistency and palatability matter more. For sharing at a party: mixed bag. Always include both. Never assume.
There is no wrong answer here. The gummy format exists in sufficient variety that everyone is correct.
