Since foxes are solitary, maybe it won't be so hard for you to be in touch with both sides of your heritage Swiftdawn. You patrolling the borders of Shadowclan would mark to other foxes that Shadowclan territory is your space and you could always pop in to catch up at this place with the other foxes. That is, if you want to stay in Shadowclan. Its ultimately your choice either way.

I would take it as a good sign if you are left with a mother and kit, Swiftdawn. We might be more accustomed to how cats act, but I doubt any animal would let someone they were gonna be hostile to near such vulnerable members of their society.
